The physical scope of the project includes the upgrading of the school unit of the Gymnasium – Lyceum of Kolimbari in the Municipality of Platanias, Chania, Crete. The planned works do not bring any change to the functional areas of the school unit and their use. The works aim to ensure the structural adequacy of the buildings, the fire safety of the premises, the accessibility of the disabled, as well as their general upgrade and include:
1.Reinforcement of the first (western) building of the load-bearing structure, according to the approved structural design. Restoration of corroded structural elements of the remaining buildings. Corrosion prevention works.
2.Construction of active fire protection system.
3.Ensuring accessibility for people with disabilities, with the construction of a lift for disabled access on the first floor and the construction of ramps on the ground floor and the courtyard, where they do not exist.
- E/M works, as well as some works in the surrounding area, in order to achieve the upgrading of the school, both in terms of safety and functionality.
